The SSS Learning Lab offers a variety of instructional options for improving your performance as a student. Most students prefer to schedule one-on-one sessions with the Assistant Director for Academic Skills Services to focus on their particular study skills issues. You also have access to our handouts, videos, CD-ROMs, and general references if you prefer independent work.
Many students seek advice and assistance with how to:
- Be a better listener and note taker.
- Improve reading comprehension or increase speed.
- Develop study techniques for specific kinds of tests.
- Prepare for tests throughout the semester to get better grades.
- Improve textbook reading strategies to avoid reading that goes, "in your eyes and out your ears."
