Training Schedule

Training Sessions
All Special Support Services (SSS) tutors are required to attend training sessions throughout the academic year. Training Sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Level 1: Monday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm OR Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm
    in New Science Bldg 203
  • Level 2: Monday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm OR Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm
    in New Science Bldg 227
  • Level 3: Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am
    in New Science Bldg 203

You may attend any session that you have not completed already (as long as you meet the prerequisite(s), if any). Tutoring sessions are not a valid excuse for missing training sessions. All tutoring sessions should end at least 15 minutes before the start of a training session and should begin no earlier than 15 minutes after training has concluded.

Training Requirements
Tutors are required to attend a minimum of ten (10) training sessions per academic semester in order to maintain good standing within the office. Employment is contingent upon attendance at training sessions. Tutors who fail to meet the minimum training requirements will face probation or termination.

Please note: Tutors who have academic conflicts should be prepared to provide documentation in support of their conflict. In addition, they will need to discuss alternate training with the Assistant Director for Tutoring Services.

Spring 2008 Training Schedule
The new training catalog has been posted on Blackboard. Please reference this document for descriptions of training topics, training requirements/prerequisites, and time/location information. Please be sure to check the information well in advance of each session so you are prepared and on time for the trainings! Thank you.
