The AAC hires for the following positions:
TUTORS
- Hired on a rolling basis throughout the semester, depending on need
- Eligibility Requirements
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- B+ or higher in classes you’d like to tutor.
- Availability either Mondays 4pm-5pm or Tuesdays 5pm-6pm for weekly paid training, starting around the second week of class.
- Availability to work a minimum of 5 hours per week. Preference given to candidates who can work at least 8 hours per week
- Faculty recommendation in subject area you would like to cover
- Job responsibilities
- Provide weekly small group tutoring to assigned students in specific course
- Determine individual student needs and academic goals, and structure sessions accordingly
- Assist students in understanding course material
- Keep accurate records of sessions with students
- Communicate regularly with supervisor via email
- Be prepared for, and arrive on time, for all tutoring and training sessions

PEER MENTORS

- Eligibility Requirements:
- Good academic standing
- Can commit to at least 7 hours of work per week
- Must be able to attend paid training (Sunday Aug 14th, 9am-12pm)
- Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitate academic skills sessions (applicants are NOT expected to be content experts)
- Determine individual student needs and academic goals, and structure session time accordingly
- Focus on helping students develop academic skills
- Attend weekly training and meetings
- Manage schedule using TracCloud
- Submit visit records regarding student interactions
- Regularly communicate with supervisor via email and meetings
- Accept and implement improvement suggestions from AAC staff
- Refer students to campus resources as needed to help them adjust and excel

UPL TEST ASSISTANT POSITIONS
- See Handshake for Lab Assistant positions that may be available.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting with checking students into and out of the UPLab, including verifying ID and handling locker assignments
- Helping monitor the UPLab during test administration, including following a screen viewer
- Reporting any issues that occur with test administration, including technical issues and possible academic dishonesty
- Providing feedback on UPLab functions and procedures to assist with efficacy and efficiency
- Completing weekly timesheet and task list
- Approximately 10 hours per week. Some weekend and evening shifts may be required.
