Schedule an Orientation or Workshop
If you are interested in the Communication Lab giving an orientation to your class or if you would like a workshop to help support a specific aspect of your class, please fill out this form, and an admin will be in touch shortly! You can also email us at commlabsupport@uncg.edu.
Our orientations cover the Communication Lab’s philosophy and what we can help with, how our sessions run, and how to make an appointment. We will discuss logistics so that students know exactly what to expect and answer any questions they might have. Our orientations typically last 10-15 minutes. If you are teaching asynchronously or would like to include our orientation in your syllabus, course guide, or canvas page, you can access a video version at this link.
Our workshops will be designed in conjunction with the instructor of record and will typically explore a specific topic related to the class or a particular assignment. Workshops vary widely depending on what faculty need for their class; all workshop requests will be followed by a meeting to discuss what the workshop needs to accomplish. Workshop length is flexible; we can use an entire class period or part of one, depending on what instructors need. All workshops will be concluded with a brief (~5 minute) orientation so that students know where to go for further support.
