Did you know that almost 40% of UNCG students started at another college or university before becoming a Spartan?

There are so many transfer students thriving on campus, and there’s no better way for new transfer students to get connected than through Transfer2Transfer. This mentorship program is made possible by a partnership between UNCG and the Mentor Collective and funding from the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation. New first-year transfer students are matched with volunteer transfer student mentors who are in at least their second year at UNCG after successfully transferring from another institution.

Get connected and find your community as you successfully transition to life as a Spartan! For questions, please contact us at [email protected]

Mentors

Through a partnership with the Mentor Collective, UNCG transfer student mentors are trained in how to serve as a mentor, use discussion guides to help start conversations with their mentees, and refer students to UNCG resources and services. Mentors are asked to commit to serving in their roles for one academic year (August to May and connect with their mentees at least once a month.

Mentees

As a new transfer student, there are so many new experiences waiting for you at UNCG and, while there are many people and resources available to you, having a Transfer 2 Transfer mentor will give you the student perspective right from the beginning. Mentors have been where you are and understand all the complexities of the transfer process. They will help you get connected early and find the best ways to get involved so that you can make the most of your first year on campus.
