UNCG TrACE (Transfer, Accelerate, Complete, and Engage) is part of a UNC System initiative. It is designed to help North Carolina Community College transfer students, who’ve earned an associate degree OR at least 60 transferable hours, complete their bachelor’s degree.

TrACE provides a range of financial, academic, and personal support.

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN TRACE?

Degree completion is the goal and we are here to support you! How, you might ask? Great question. Benefits include:

  • Maintain full-time status
  • Earn a minimum of 30 credits each academic year; enroll in summer or winter courses, if needed, to earn 30 credits
  • Meet monthly with your academic advisor
  • Participate in required activities/events
  • Respond promptly to all communications sent out by TrACE staff
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year

You may have already completed many of these steps!

  1. Apply for admission to UNCG
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.gov; if eligible, accept all federal and state grants.
  3. Get accepted to UNCG — CONGRATULATIONS! —and accept your offer of admission as well as your intent to enroll.
  4. Complete all admissions requirements.
  5. Apply to the TrACE program by July 17th, 2023.   If you are eligible, log into UNCG’s admissions portal using your personal email address. You will see an application that will only take 2 minutes to complete.
    • There are limited spaces available and admission to TrACE will be determined through a lottery process.  All students who meet TrACE eligibility requirements and submit their completed application before the July 17th deadline will be entered in the lottery; the final determination of who is selected will be determined randomly.
